In the 1920s, brothers Mathias and Nick Funk purchased this cook car to feed their harvest crew. Two women cooked three meals a day plus lunches for twenty or more men in this narrow, train-car-shaped kitchen with no refrigeration, no running water, and no electricity. The Majestic cook stove that did all of it is still here.
Pioneer Village is preserved entirely by gifts from people who love it. Your contribution keeps all twenty-four buildings standing, the grounds open, and the programs running for the children who visit each spring.
